Chickens
Daniel and I have recently started rearing our own free range chickens known as Hubbards.  The British Hubbard bird is known for its slow growing and tender eating qualities ideally suited to being free range.  The bird is allowed to grow at its own natural growth rate, therefore no additional stress is caused to the bird.  We are rearing the chicks from day olds through to slaughter which is between 9 and 10 weeks of age.  The birds are hung for a minimum of 5 days to ensure a full tender flavour is achieved in the same traditional way as our turkeys and beef.  They enjoy the freedom of the quiet countryside (apart from when the children are running around!) and can come and go into their chicken house if required.

Ordering
Whole chickens and various portions are now available.

Please feel free to contact us if you wish to collect your bird direct from the farm.  Should you wish it to be delivered this will be available on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, locally free of charge.  If you are further afield and would like a chickens delivered, this can be arranged on an indiviual basis.

Prices
Chickens prices are £4.90 /kg and the weights will be around 1 ½ and 2 kg.
